What is the main difference between LingQ and PageWalker?

LingQ is a tool: you bring or choose content and it turns that content into lessons. PageWalker is a library: 28 classic novels, already levelled, translated into 13 languages and rebuilt as adventures where every scene ends with a choice.

  • Progress tracking (words learned and more) across everything you read and listen to.

Where is PageWalker stronger?

  • You never have to find material: every book is chosen, levelled and translated.
  • Choices in every scene make you read carefully, and replays are free revision. See why interactive fiction works.
  • Narration on every page with a speed slider, and a text-size setting from 80% to 140%, useful for low-vision and listen-first learners.

Questions

Is LingQ or PageWalker better for beginners?

Many LingQ reviewers say it is hard for complete beginners, because most content is real-world material. PageWalker's easiest classics start around A2–B1 and every scene is short, but neither app is a first-day grammar course. Total beginners usually do best with a course first, then reading.

Can I use both?

Yes. A common pattern is a story-driven app for daily motivation and a tool like LingQ for reading whatever else you find. Words you meet in both stick better.

Which is better for blind or low-vision learners?

PageWalker reads every page aloud with adjustable speed and has its own text-size setting (80% to 140%); screen-reader support is partial. We have not tested LingQ with a screen reader, so check AppleVis or try it with VoiceOver or TalkBack before paying.
