About
About PageWalker
PageWalker turns 28 classic novels into stories you can read, hear and play, in 13 languages. It is made by Furkan Sabri Çetinkaya, an independent developer.
Why PageWalker exists
Classic novels are some of the best stories ever written, and they are free of copyright, but many people never finish them. The language feels old, the books are long, and a learner who stops to look up every word soon gives up. PageWalker was built to make reading these books fun again: you read a real page, you make a choice, and the story keeps moving.
The second reason is access. Many reading and language apps are built for eyes first. PageWalker reads every page aloud, lets you make the text larger, and keeps the plot in the words rather than in pictures, so people who are blind or have low vision can enjoy the same stories. Our accessibility page explains honestly what works today and what we are still improving.
What you can do with PageWalker
- Read the classics: 28 books, from Treasure Island and Sherlock Holmes to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
- Play them as adventures: each book has a choose-your-path version where your decisions change what happens next.
- Learn a language inside the story: read the stories in English, Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish or Chinese, and tap any word or sentence to see it in more than 60 languages.
- Listen: narration reads the page aloud at the speed you choose.
- Keep the words: save new words and practise them later with short review games.
How we make the content
Every book on PageWalker is a public-domain classic. The English texts come from published editions of these books. The interactive adventures, the translations and parts of the study guides on this website are written with the help of AI tools, then checked against the original English text. On our book pages, reading-level numbers are measured from the real text, and every quotation and vocabulary example is copied from the book itself.
We are a very small team, so mistakes can slip through. If you find a wrong translation, a typo or a fact that doesn't match the book, please tell us and we will fix it.
